My Canvas

What will I paint on my canvas today?

What does the brush in my hand want to say?

Will I play in a colorful way?

Or make only gray from my tray?

Will I dive right in, or will I stop to pray

Volunteers assist if I try to stray.

Right Where I Belong

I'm just where I'm supposed to be
Right where I belong
Right where I'm supposed to be
Traveling Along
Don't question the plan for me
Good things are in store for me
I'm just where I'm supposed to be
Right where I belong

The reasoning is hard to see
Don't hear an answer to my plea
But instead of feeling bad for me
I try to sing a song
"Tomorrow" means a lot to me
Brings back hope I couldn't see
The sun will be out to comfort me
As I'm traveling along

I remember others care for me
But it isn't always clear to see
I'm right where I'm supposed to be
Just where I belong

The first 8 lines were written April 1986, then continued Jan 1987 after losing a job, then apartment.

What's Next?

Normally hating Sunday night. Maybe next time I can get it right. 
Lost my job just before our trip. Still perplexed and don't know what's next. 
Hoping better things in sight.....

Will I find the Zen
With paper and pen?
In the mirror of my mind
The paper is unlined
 What else did I find?
A way to unwind
What was designed?
A release from the bind
Peace for humankind?
A light was shined
